A new novel by author Chae Kang-D has been released. The background was in 1982, the first year of professional baseball.
The fate of the superstars is all too well known. It was ridiculed by expressions such as 'Unfortunate Club', 'Last in Many Years', and 'Superstars Without Superstars'.
The former Gyeongnam', which made a crash landing in Korea in 1982, threw a ball at Superstars coach's proposal. 'Old Gyeongnam' has been a promising player in the spotlight since his high school days, and he even recorded 10 wins as soon as he made his debut. He quickly became a starting pitcher and recorded several quality starts. An elbow injury brought an end to his brilliant heyday.
It immediately caught the attention of players who ignored 'Gu Gyeongnam' by showing pitching forms and types of pitches that were not even conceptual at the time.
After receiving an offer from the owner, 'Old Gyeongnam' agonized over joining the Superstars, who came in before he even believed he had opened his eyes in the past. However, in 1982, when there was no home and no one knew him, the only thing that 'Old Gyeongnam' believed was the baseball stadium he had been with all his life. In the end, 'Old Gyeongnam' became a pitcher for the Superstars and took the mound in 1982, called the Grave of the Ground.
Several baseball heroes, including legendary pitcher Park Cheol-soon, appear in '18 spectator'. In fact, in 1982, several players did not play professional leagues due to the World Baseball Championship, but in the novel, they appear as a team and as rivals and play dramatic games.
We already know the history of 1982 and the conclusion of Superstars. However, we can witness the history of turning upside down in the novel by author Chae Kang-D.
There is no 'what if' in baseball, but a pleasant imagination is possible in this novel. One day, he left the reader with a philosophical thought with a bad-luck pitcher 'Old Gyeongnam' who opened his eyes to the past in 1982 and a 'Baseball' that he can't relax for a moment.
After graduating from the film department, writer Chae Kang-D is currently the front desk of a baseball team. He is writing various genres of stories centered on baseball, and in 2021, he published a comic baseball omnibus novel 'Mujin City Baseball Stadium People' and received a lot of love. Participated in SF Ansolage 'Manifesto'2023.
It invites readers to enter the thrilling scene of baseball legends gathered in one ground.
