British media 'Give Me Sports' wants Tottenham to recruit a superstar of 68 million pounds (about 120 billion won) on the 16th (Korea time). Tottenham are interested in signing Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze, reports say.
Eze is an all-round offensive midfielder who can play left wing forward and midfielder. In the 2023-2024 Premier League, he scored 11 goals and four assists to reach the star-studded ranks.
Tottenham's main attacking midfielder is James Maddison. Tottenham signed Leicester City for £40 million (about 70 billion won) in the summer of 2023. Madison scored four goals and nine assists in 28 Premier League games in the 2023-2024 season.
Eze's ransom is rising vertically. When Crystal Palace recruited Eze in 2020, the transfer fee paid to the Queens Park Rangers was around 15 million pounds (about 26.5 billion won). It's more than quadrupled. Eze began to make a name for himself with 10 goals and 4 assists in the 2022-2023 season.
In this Euro 2024, Tottenham ace Madison and Manchester City Travel star Jack Grealish were pushed out to join the England national team. At Euro 2024, he failed to play as the main player due to Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Phil Foden (Man City) and Bukayo Saka (Arnall). He played as a substitute in one group qualifying match and the quarterfinals of the round of 16. He played a total of 99 minutes. He stayed on the bench in the semifinals and the final.
According to Give Me Sports, Eze's buyout is £68 million. Depending on the negotiations, the transfer fee may be lowered a little, but it is safe to say that there is no possibility that Crystal Palace will respond to it. Eze still has three years left on his contract. For Crystal Palace, £68 million is also cheap.

The key is whether Tottenham can make a decision to spend £68 million.
Tottenham's club record is 63 million pounds (about 110 billion won) spent when Tanguy Ndombele was recruited in 2019. Tottenham recently opened their wallets, including £60 million (about 105 billion won), Christian Romero £42.5 million (about 74 billion won) and Madison £40 million (about 70 billion won). In addition, 100 million pounds (about 175 billion won) from the sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer remain the same.
Fabrizio Romano, a journalist familiar with the transfer market, said "Tottenham certainly wants Eze. But the buyout clause is a problem. I understand that the full £68 million must be paid to Crystal Palace immediately. It is not easy from Tottenham's point of view. We have to wait and see if Tottenham can make this deal."
