The San Diego Padres lost their first game of the second half.
Kim Ha-sung was also helpless with no hits.
San Diego lost 0-7 in an away game against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field on the 20th (Korea time). San Diego, which lost to the Atlanta Braves in the final game of the first half, also lost its second consecutive game by giving up the opening game of the second half.
San Diego, which marked 50 wins and 50 losses, remained in third place in the NL West, but fell to sixth place in the wild card. The postseason cut line is one game away from the third-place New York Mets.
San Diego's batters had four hits and no runs against four pitchers, including Cleveland starter Tanner Bybee.
Luis Arraez and Jake Cronenworth had two hits side by side, but the other hitters kept their heads down with no hits. Bybee won eight games in five ⅔ innings with two hits and no runs.
San Diego starter Matt Waldron pitched well with six hits and one run in six innings, but lost the game because he was not supported by the batters. 5-9 in the season, 3.59 ERA.
Cleveland scored the first run in the bottom of the fifth inning with Daniel Schniman's double on third base with no outs. Schneeman hit Waldron's 78.6-mile knuckleball for a double that cut right-center to bring David Fry home.
Cleveland, which rarely scored additional points, tied five hits and four outs, including Jose Ramirez's two-run timely hit, against three bullpen pitchers in the eighth inning, including San Diego's Stephen Colleck, Austin Davis and Sean Reynolds, to score six runs.
Kim Ha-sung entered the batter's box three times and recorded no hits and one walk in two at-bats.
Kim Ha-sung, who played as the eighth shortstop, struck out the rookie as a leadoff hitter in the top of the third inning when he was 0-0. After hitting two fouls in a row in a two-strike crowd at Bybee, he did not stick his bat out for a changeup that slightly deviated from the strike zone outside 82.9 miles on the fifth pitch. But center Marvin Hudson made a strike call, and Kim Ha-sung stepped back, tilting his head at him.

He went out as a leadoff hitter in the eighth inning, trailing 0-1, and hit a ground ball to the third base. Opponent right-hander Hunter Gaddis's 77.6-mile changeup on the fourth pitch headed in front of the third baseman.
With this, Kim Ha-sung marked a batting average of 0.225 (73 hits in 325 at-bats), 10 home runs, 40 RBIs, 48 points, 49 walks, 18 steals, a on-base percentage of 0.327, and a slugging percentage of 0.372. The OPS fell to 0.699.
