Mayorkas and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are struggling with the 'Lee Kang-in clause'. What's the story?
Spain's daily Marca reported on the 30th (local time) that Lee Kang-in is currently training with Korean coaches in Mallorca. Lee Kang-in, who arrived in Palma, Spain on the 24th of last month and enjoyed a few days of vacation, is currently resting and training in Mallorca. Lee Kang-in released a photo taken side by side with two Korean coaches on his personal Instagram.
Marca says "Lee Kang-in has made a house on an island (Mayorka) where he visits whenever his schedule permits. He visited the island once in November last year to watch the match between Mallorca and Cardis at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix`"Lee Kang-in is now spending a week in condition and enjoying the tranquility of the island" he said.
Marca also mentioned provisions related to Lee Kang-in in this article. Last summer, when Lee Kang-in moved from Mallorca to PSG for 22 million euros, the contract reportedly inserted a friendly match between Mallorca and PSG at Son Moi Stadium. Mallorca drew a picture of the LEE they produced leading a legion of global stars to find Mallorca in the preseason. It's an opportunity to catch three rabbits: game experience, issues and profits.

However, as Mayorca CEO Alfonso Díaz acknowledged at the announcement of the appointment of new manager Yagova Arasate, Marca said it would be almost impossible for the two clubs to set a date for a friendly match. The Mallorca club planned to invite PSG to the Tropeu Ciutat de Palma, a friendly tournament, but PSG has a pre-planned schedule such as an Asian tour, making it difficult to meet the date.
"The Mayorkas are dreaming of a day when this provision will be implemented as soon as possible and the most talented player in the recent Majorca uniform will return," Marca said. Lee Kang-in played for Mallorca for two seasons from 2021 to 2023, growing into a big club-class player.
Meanwhile, French daily LeQuipe reported on the 21st of last month that it had decided not to carry out the planned tour to China due to PSG 'sports'. Numerous main players are participating in major competitions such as Euro 2024 and Copa America, and it seems that it is better not to go on an overseas tour with the Paris Olympics in the summer. PSG visited Korea last summer with Lee Kang-in, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe and played a friendly match with Jeonbuk.
Against this backdrop, attention is being paid to whether PSG will hold a 'Friendly Match for Lee Kang-in' in Mallorca before the opening of the new season.
