Kiwoom won 5-3 at home against Hanwha at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 9th. Kiwoom, the lowest-ranked team, won its 36th game (46 losses) of the season, narrowing its gap with ninth-ranked Hanwha (36 wins, 2 draws, 45 losses) to 0.5 games.
Kiwoom organized the starting lineup in the order of Lee Joo-hyung (right wing), Ronnie Dawson (left wing), Kim Hye-sung (second baseman), Song Sung-moon (third baseman), Choi Joo-hwan (first baseman), Lee Hyung-jong (designated hitter), Kim Jae-hyun (possession), Kim Tae-jin (striker), and Jang Jae-young (middle fielder).
Kiwoom ran the game with starting pitcher Ariel Furado mixing up to 149km/h fastballs, changeups (15), cutters (14), sliders (13), two-seam (10), and curves (7).
Jonathan Peraza's double and An Chi-hong's hit in the first inning gave him his first run, and he added two more runs in the third inning with consecutive home runs by Peraza and An Chi-hong, but he quickly increased the out count and played seven innings after that.
Following Furado, Kim Sung-min and Cho Sang-woo kept the victory by allowing no runs in one inning side by side.
In the batting line, Lee Ju-hyung hit a triple in the sixth inning to open the offense, and he won the game by leading to a score in the bottom of the eighth inning without missing the opponent's control.

Coach Hong continued, "In the eighth inning, hitters showed their pioneering eyes and succeeded in getting on base, which became a stepping stone for the reversal. Choi Joo-hwan's critical defense in the ninth inning determined the game" he complimented.
Coach Hong said, `I'm happy to start the first game of the second half with a victory. It's all thanks to the fans' support. Thank you very much."
