Cho Myoung-woo (world No. 5, Seoul City Hall/Silk Road C&T/Hanche University), who tried to win two World Cups, finished second at the World 3 Cushion Billiards World Cup.

Cho Myung-woo lost 35-50 to Dick Jaspers (world No. 1, Netherlands) in 27 innings in the final of the 2024 Porto World Cup 3 Cushion in Porto, Portugal on the 14th (Korea Standard Time). As a result, Cho Myung-woo attempted to win twice in total following the 2022 World Cup of Sharm el-Sheikh World Cup of Cushion in Egypt, but unfortunately, he was postponed to the next opportunity.

It was not easy from the beginning of the game. Cho Myung-woo and the Jaspers started the first inning with three runs and two runs, respectively, but Cho Myung-woo only hit two or three innings and scored one run in four innings, while the Jaspers scored 12 points, making a big difference from the beginning. Until the break time, the game was the same. The Jaspers scored 27 points in nine innings and Cho Myung-woo only scored one from five to eight innings, breaking time by 5-27, 22.

Cho Myung-woo, who needed a mid- and second-half turnaround in the game, had difficulty accumulating points due to the Jaspers' seasoned game management. In the second half of the game, Cho Myung-woo had an opportunity with 26-45 situations in 25 innings. He scored a whopping nine high runs and trailed 35-45. However, the ball towards the 10th point of the High Run was a waste, and no more opportunities came, and the game ended in a victory for the Jaspers, with the Jaspers winning the remaining five points in 27 innings. Final Everidge is Cho Myung-woo 1.346 and Jaspers 1.851.

Prior to this tournament, Cho Myung-woo had not recorded a quarterfinal or better performance in three World Cups this year. However, he won the runner-up prize in the Porto World Cup, signaling a revival. It was possible to confirm that not only the results of the competition but also the contents were very different from the previous one.

In the group qualifying round, Everidge was 1.777, but he showed off his explosive attack with a high run of 20 points and a three-point Everidge in the quarterfinals and an Everidge 2.941 against Turkiye in the semi-finals. Everidge recorded 2.048 in the tournament.

With many international competitions scheduled in the second half of this year, attention is being paid to whether Cho Myung-woo, the world's No. 1, will be able to restore his self-esteem by showing his previous performance.
