Cole Palmer (England) broke his silence.

British media Daily Mail reported on the 16th (Korea time) that Palmer has expressed his position on coach Gareth Southgate's future.

Palmer, born in 2002, dominated the English Premier League (EPL) in the 2023-2024 season. He scored 22 goals-11 assists in 33 league games. He played a great role as Chelsea's ace.

Palmer appeared on the Euro 2024 stage in recognition of his performance in his team. The national team was different from its own team. Palmer didn't take the opportunity easily. In the end, there was even a rumor of discord with the director.

It was after the second Group C match of Euro 2024 against Denmark. Another media outlet, The Sun, believes fans have found an awkward moment between Southgate and Palmer after England's boring draw. After the game, Southgate entered the ground to shake hands with the players. Southgate also shook hands with Palmer, who did not look at him.

Palmer let go of his sorrow. He scored the equalizer in the final against Spain on the 15th. However, his performance was overshadowed by his team's defeat. England bowled 1-2 at the end of the second half, conceding the winning goal.

The Daily Mail said 'Palmer had an impressive performance, scoring 27 goals in all tournaments in the 2023-2024 season. However, he had to be satisfied with his replacement at Euro 2024. After the game, Palmer told his teammates to stay calm and call for the 2026 World Cup in North Korea and the U.S. Palmer said "We're in the final. Apparently everyone wanted to go one step further. We are disappointed that we did not. But the World Cup is two years from now. We need to remember this feeling. Hopefully, we can keep trying and win."

The media drew attention to Southgate's future with the defeat. Palmer has hinted that he wants Southgate to stay.
