Doosan was chased 7-6 after giving a generous 7-2 lead at home against LG at Jamsil Stadium on the 6th, but Kim Taek-yeon, who took the mound with one out and second base in the top of the eighth inning, kept the victory by blocking no runs until the ninth inning.
Doosan, which escaped five consecutive losses against LG and three consecutive home losses due to the victory on the day, entered the fight for second place by chasing second-place LG and third-place Samsung by two games.
LG's starter Son Joo-young showed sluggish performance, but they followed up to a one-run gap due to the bullpen's good pitching, but eventually failed to break down Doosan's rookie closer Kim Taek-yeon and lost three consecutive games.
Doosan made up the starting lineup with Jung Soo-bin (center fielder), Kim Jae-ho (striker), Jarrod (right fielder), Yang Eui-ji (catcher), Yang Seok-hwan (first baseman), Heo Kyung-min (third baseman), Kang Seung-ho (second baseman), Kim Ki-yeon (designated hitter), and Lee Yoo-chan (left fielder). Yang Eui-ji, who was excluded from the starting lineup for a week last week, started as a catcher on the day. Seven right-handed hitters were deployed in preparation for LG left-handed starter Son Joo-young.
Manager Lee hoped Yang Eui-ji would give his last spurt, saying, `I put Yang Eui-ji in the lineup because he said he could defend the catcher today.'
LG made its best lineup with Hong Chang-ki (right wing), Shin Min-jae (second baseman), Austin (designated hitter), Moon Bo-kyung (first baseman), Oh Ji-hwan (striker), Kim Hyun-soo (left wing), Park Dong-won (catcher), Park Hae-min (middle fielder), and Koo Bon-hyuk (third baseman).

LG immediately got the first run in the top of the second inning. Park Dong-won hit a double to the left with one out and second base, which was made with a walk and wild pitch by the leadoff Oh Ji-hwan. 1-0. Koo Bon-hyuk drew a walk, leading to the first and second bases with two outs, and when Kwak Bin's ball bounced sideways off Yang Eui-ji in Hong Chang-ki's at-bat, Park Dong-won was out by Yang Eui-ji's throw to the third base, cutting off LG's attack.
Doosan, which overcame the big crisis, turned the tables by making a big inning immediately in the bottom of the second inning. With consecutive hits by Kang Seung-ho and Kim Ki-yeon, third baseman Koo Bon-hyuk caught Lee Yoo-chan's sacrifice bunt and distributed it to third base, becoming a safety, and the bases loaded with no outs. Jung Soo-bin's ground ball in front of the shortstop tied the score at 1-1. Kim Jae-ho's right-handed hit led to a 2-1 turnaround. Jared walked and loaded the bases with one out, creating a chance for a big inning, but Yang Eui-ji struck out swinging after a full count match, breaking the flow. However, Yang Seok-hwan made it 5-1 by hitting a three-run double in mid-month sweep that couldn't catch even fast Park Hae-min.

In the top of the fourth inning, Kim Hyun-soo and Park Dong-won's walks made the bases loaded with one out on the first hit of Moon Bo-kyung. Park Hae-min hit the first pitch, became a clean right-handed hit, and third baseman Moon Bo-kyung homered 2-5. However, LG failed to break down Kwak Bin in the end. In the subsequent bases-loaded chance, Koo Bon-hyuk struck out swinging, and even Hong Chang-ki couldn't stop his bat due to Kwak Bin's breaking ball and struck out.
Doosan got another chance in the bottom of the fourth inning. Leading Jared got a walk, and Yang Eui-ji lived on a third baseman error. When it reached the first and second bases with no outs, LG lowered starter Son Joo-young and raised second pitcher Jung Woo-young. Expectations were high for Yang Seok-hwan, who hit a three-run double in the bottom of the second inning, but he struck out swinging with a 145km pitch. However, Heo Kyung-min hit a hit in front of the center field to continue the chance to load the bases with one out. And Kang Seung-ho pushed the first pitch and scored one point with a clean right-handed hit to make it 6-2. Kim Ki-yeon's foul ball was caught by Moon Bo-kyung's defense, and it was 2 outs. And when Lee Yoo-chan's shortstop infield hit, shortstop Oh Ji-hwan's throw fell off first baseman Moon Bo-kyung's mit, and even second baseman Huh Kyung-min dug home, but was tagged out by Moon Bo-kyung's home pitch. Still, he scored two points and led by five points to 7-2.

The Doosan bench moved. When Kwak Bin's pitch reached 104, he eventually decided to replace it. Lee Byung-hun, a left-handed must-winner, was raised as the second pitcher. Oh Ji-hwan attacked Lee Byung-hun and hit a right-handed hit to bring Moon Bo-kyung home. It's 4-7, three points apart.
LG's pursuit continued in the top of the sixth inning. After two outs, when Hong Chang-ki's hit and Shin Min-jae's body hit created a chance for the first and second bases, Doosan raised Park Chi-guk to block Austin. But Austin hit an RBI single to left to make it 5-7. Doosan replaced Choi Seung-yong again. However, Moon Bo-kyung hit another RBI left-handed hit to follow 6-7, one-run difference.
LG's lead Kim Hyun-soo hit a left-handed hit in the top of the seventh inning to create a chance to tie the game. Let's immediately change to Choi Seungmin. However, Choi Seung-min was caught out by the changed pitcher Hong Gun-hee's check ball, and the flow was cut off. After two outs, Park Hae-min hit a left-handed hit and tried to save the opportunity again, but Kim Bum-seok struck out swinging.

When LG created a chance to tie the game with one out and second base in the top of the eighth inning with a ball hit by Hong Chang-ki's body and Shin Min-jae's sacrifice bunt, Doosan posted closer Kim Taek-yeon, which is 'the last bastion'.
Austin hit Kim Taek-yeon's fastball, but first baseman foul fly. Moon Bo-kyung, who had three hits on the day, picked out a ball on his body and walked to get on base after a full count match. Oh Ji-hwan hit a fastball on the second pitch, but was caught on a shortstop fly.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Kang Seung-ho, who went on a heavy hit after two outs, succeeded in stealing second base, followed by Kim Ki-yeon hitting a double to the left, but left fielder Choi Seung-min made a picturesque diving catch and failed to score another point.
However, Kim Taek-yeon blocked the one-point gap until the end. Kim Taek-yeon, who struck out pinch hitter Ham Chang-gun with a swing and miss in the top of the ninth inning, handled Park Dong-won with a fly to center field. He struck out the last Park Hae-min and recorded his 13th save.
