Jang Hyun-seok, who is classified as LA Dodgers Farm 'Special Prospects', has completed his adaptation to Single A with another flawless pitching.

Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Jang Hyun-seok started the home game against Lake Elsinore Storm (under the San Diego Padres) at Lonmart Field on the 23rd (Korea time) and gave up only two walks in four innings and pitched a scoreless pitch. Rancho Cucamonga won 9–2.

Of the 51 pitches, 31 were strikes.

Since being promoted from Rookie League to Single A on the 9th, Jang Hyun-seok has a 3.24 ERA in three games. Jang Hyun-seok, who gave up two hits and two walks in one ⅓ inning against the Fresno Grizzlies (under the Colorado Rockies), his first appearance in Single A, settled down against Visalia Rojide (under the Arizona Diamondbacks) with one hit, two walks and seven strikeouts in three innings on the 16th. He then kept four scoreless innings in the game, continuing his scoreless streak for seven consecutive innings.

He threw eight ⅓ innings in three Single A games, allowed three hits and six walks, and struck out 13 to mark WHIP 1.08 and a 0.111 hit rate. In 16 games, minor league performances, including rookie levels, had 62 strikeouts against 32 ⅔ innings, 21 hits, 25 walks, 62 strikeouts, WHIP 1.41, and a hit rate of 0.172.151, so he had a strikeout rate of 41.1 percent and 17.08 per 9 innings.

Jang Hyun-seok gave up a walk to Jack Costello after one out in the top of the first inning, committed a wild pitch after two out, and gave up a walk to Lamarr King Jr. to first and second base, then caught Braden Capacios with a fly ball to left field and passed no runs. In the second inning, he struck out Choi Byung-yong, a Korean player who is considered a promising San Diego shortstop after one out, with an outside changeup for the fifth pitch.

Choi was the first Korean to join the Major League draft last year as the 611th overall pick in the 20th round, and was promoted to Single A on the 27th of last month after going through the rookie league. It can be said that Jang Hyun-seok is going through a similar growth process. He has a batting average of 0.262 with four home runs, 18 RBIs, 34 points and 12 walks in 55 games at rookie level this year, and has a batting average of 0.211 (12 hits in 57 at-bats), one home run, seven RBIs, 14 points, 10 walks and 20 strikeouts in 15 games at Single A.

Jang Hyun-seok, who blocked the third inning with 13 balls, finished the inning with all three batters in the fourth inning.

The Rancho Cucamonga club website said that `Quakes starter Jang Hyun-seok has allowed no hits and no runs in his career-high four innings.'

It should be noted that Jang Hyun-seok filled four innings for the first time since entering the U.S. The number of pitches has also been steadily increasing to 39→50→51. Next year, it is expected that he may have a season in Double A. Bobby Miller, considered the Dodgers' next-generation ace, was selected in the first round of the 2020 draft and pitched 14 games in the 2021 High Single A before going up to Double A in September of that year.
