The Korea Football Association announced on the 22nd that it will launch a youth individual skill certification program 'KFA Challenge'.

The 'KFA Challenge' is a program that evaluates children's soccer skills and issues cards for each grade. Anyone between the ages of 6 and 12 who enjoys soccer can participate regardless of whether they are registered as players of the Korea Football Association. So far, there have been skills certification programs in some sports, including taekwondo, but soccer is the first to be introduced in ball games.

The program will be operated by each soccer team leader approved by the Korea Football Association using the application to evaluate and rate five areas, from pass skills of children in their teams, dribbling, ball control, shooting, and movement (speed, agility, etc.).

The rating consists of a total of 15 stages and consists of 65 programs for each item. It is designed solely to evaluate children's individual skills, excluding tactical understanding and team play skills. Participating children are free to apply for the desired grade, and a certification card is issued to children who pass the test for each grade.

Just as Taekwondo is given a band through screening by each educational institution and the final product/dan is managed by the Kukkiwon, 'KFA Challenge' evaluates the skills of each team approved by the Korea Football Association from grades 1 to 14.

The highest grade (15th grade), which is considered to have a basic skill comparable to that of a soccer player, is directly certified by the Korea Football Association. In the future, the Korea Football Center, which will be built in Cheonan, will be used as a certification center.

In order to become a soccer team that conducts the 'KFA Challenge' program, there must be a leader with a certificate of D or higher of the Korea Football Association, along with facilities and conditions required by the Korea Football Association. You can apply to the Korea Football Association through the application and get approval, and then register your team's children to run the program.

In order to participate in the 'KFA Challenge', a monthly fee of 50,000 won is paid per team, but participating children have no participation fee except for the top 15 certification. Details on the application and operation of 'KFA Challenge' can be found on the website.

The association has conducted tests on about 1,600 youths over the past two years to introduce the 'KFA Challenge'. In addition, we have prepared a high-quality program to reflect the opinions of leaders and young people over the past three months." Program application development and operation are handled by IT specialized company 'WPLAYLIGHT'.

The association also said "Children will be able to enjoy the fun of improving their soccer skills as they challenge for the upper grades." The leaders also expressed their expectations, saying, "By motivating the players, it will be of great help to revitalize the team's management."
