KIA Tigers infielder Kim Do-young was selected as the monthly MVP in July, which will be presented at Bright Eye 21 Hospital. The award ceremony was held ahead of the Gwangju Samsung match on the 9th.

Kim Do-young played in 22 games in July and recorded a batting average of 33 hits, seven homers, 21 RBIs, and 0.407. In particular, he achieved a natural cycling hit at least at-bats against Gwangju NC on July 23. The award was given by Kim Geun-oh, director of Bright Eye Hospital, and the prize money is 1 million won. Kim Do-young donated 500,000 won of the prize money to help neighbors in need.

Kim Do-young had a fierce competition with Samsung catcher Kang Min-ho on his back with a strong fan spirit, but failed to win the MVP award in July by KBO. Kim Do-young, who was only half of Kang Min-ho's in the press corps vote, chased him fiercely with nearly twice as many votes in the fan vote, but failed to turn the tide.
