'Banghoon' is back.

Kwon Chang-hoon (Jeonbuk Hyundai) scored a theater goal in the 54th minute of the second half in the 27th round of the 'Hana Bank K League 1 2024' against the Pohang Steelers at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on the 17th. Jeonbuk escaped from the swamp of losing consecutive games by winning 2-1 with Kwon Chang-hoon's golden winning goal. It is the first time Kwon Chang-hoon has stepped on the K-League ground since the match against Seoul E-Land on April 22, 2023, when he was managing director Kim Cheon. He also scored a valuable return goal in his first return match in 483 days.

Kwon Chang-hoon was listed for the first time since joining Jeonbuk on the day. As his physical condition improved by playing practice games during the week, head coach Kim Doo-hyun included Kwon Chang-hoon in a surprise move. In other words, he chose Kwon Chang-hoon as a key man who can change his frustrating performance.

Kwon Chang-hoon left Suwon Samsung for Jeonbuk this summer. It was noisy since joining the team. Kwon Chang-hoon, who returned to Suwon after being discharged from the military last summer, was called a savior who would save the team in crisis. However, he did not play a single game due to injury. He even had surgery, but he was eventually out of the season. While the team collapsed, Kwon Chang-hoon disappeared from Suwon's iconic on- and off-line, and Suwon was eventually relegated.

After the relegation, Suwon continued its stride, and in the meantime, Kwon Chang-hoon's trip to Jeonbuk was decided. Suwon fans were outraged by the long-standing transfer to Jeonbuk. Kwon Chang-hoon said on his SNS, `I feel very responsible and sorry that I have been constantly receiving the support of Suwon fans throughout my career, but I didn't help the team when it was in trouble. He bowed his head, saying, 'I won't forget the love you gave me and will live with gratitude for the rest of my life.' However, Suwon fans' anger was not soothing. Kwon Chang-hoon said, "Only Jeonbuk tried to recruit me even though I knew my condition", he explained.

After many twists and turns, he wore a Jeonbuk uniform, but his physical condition did not improve. Kwon Chang-hoon has not been in good shape since he was a managing director. I took a rest for more than a year. Although rehabilitation and treatment were performed at the same time, concerns grew over Kwon Chang-hoon, who could not play in Jeonbuk for nearly eight months, saying, `Isn't his career going to end like this?' In the meantime, Jeonbuk continued to decline, falling to the bottom.

Kwon Chang-hoon returned splendidly the moment he needed the team the most. Kwon Chang-hoon was deployed in the 30th minute of the second half when he was facing 1-1. Again, it was not 100% physical. He didn't show any significant presence. But Kwon Chang-hoon had a shot. In the 54th minute of the second half, the kick attempted by beating one defense was sucked into the Pohang net beyond Hwang In-jae. As he said, a cross, not a shot, led to a goal, but it was definitely a meaningful score for Kwon Chang-hoon. There was definitely a class of situations from the scene of beating the defense to the kick.

Kwon Chang-hoon roared after scoring. Jeonbuk players and coaching staff all rushed out and were happy to hold him. It was a dramatic situation, but everyone was well aware that it was a goal after a long wait. Kwon Chang-hoon was happy in tears. Of course, time is still needed to recover his prime skills. One coldly noticeable scene was one scoring scene. However, it was a better return match for Kwon Chang-hoon, who started anew after a year and four months of absence.
