'Golf Empress'Park In-bee (36) unfortunately suffered in the election of the IOC Athletes Commission.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the results of the athletes' vote at 9 p.m. on the 8th (Korea time) at the main press center (MPC) in Palede Congre, Paris, France.

Park In-bee, the gold medalist in women's golf at the 2016 Rio Olympics, was selected as one of the 29 candidates in the world and started her campaign with the official opening of the Olympic Village on the 18th of last month and finished her campaign on the 20th of the 7th. The athletes who participated in the Olympics have newly entered the IOC and elected four athletes to continue their eight-year terms.

Following the greetings of IOC spokesman Mark Adams and IOC Athletes Commission Chairman Ema Terjo, IOC Vice Chairman and Election Commission Chairman Nicole Hoberts announced the results of the vote. In the election, which recorded the highest turnout since the London Olympics with 97 percent of the vote, Alison Felix (Athletics, USA) ranked first with 2,980 votes, German gymnast Kim Bu-i (Germany) ranked second with 1,721 votes, Jessica Fox (Australia) ranked third with 1,567 votes, and tennis Marcus Daniel (New Zealand) ranked fourth.

Korea currently has three IOC members: Lee Ki-heung, president of the Korean Olympic Committee, Kim Jae-yeol, president of the International Skating Union, and Yoo.
