'Chatoru, Land of Promise to Shoot South Korea' Believed Cho Jung-du Promises First Kim Promises
Cho Jung-doo (37, BDH Paras), the ace shooter for the disabled, became the first Korean team to win the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

Cho Jung-du shot 237.4 points in the final round of the P1 men's 10m air pistol (sports grade SH1) held at Chatoru Shooting Center in France on the 30th (Korea time), beating Manish Narwal (234.9 points from India) by a large margin.

It is the first time for the Korean team to win a gold medal in this competition, and the second time for a medal after Lee Yun-ri (49, Wando County Office) who joined the women's 10-meter air rifle in shooting R2.

In the air pistol final, a total of eight players participate and shoot 10 shots first, and then shoot two shots later, and the player with the lowest total score is eliminated one by one.

Cho Jung-du shot 98.9 points in his first 10 shots, ranking second after Yang Chao (100.6 points from China).

Since then, Cho Jung-du has been somewhat shaken. From the 11th to the 15th, he shot four of five shots below 10.0 points.

He was ranked third when he shot 16. He was 0.9 points behind Manish Narwal of India, who was ranked first.

However, Cho Jung-du chased fiercely. He shot 10.4 points in his 17th shot and 10.8 points in his 18th shot, which is close to the perfect score (10.9). He then continued his 10.3-point high scoring streak on his 19th and 20th feet.

Cho ranked first with 198.9 points up to 20 shots.

Since then, Cho Jung-du has not been shaken. He shot 10.8 points on his 23rd foot, outscoring second-place Narwal by 3.7 points to effectively seal the championship. Cho Jung-du became a spinal cord disorder due to the aftereffects of being diagnosed with meningitis while serving in 2007. Cho Jung-du, who had been living in seclusion for eight years since, met shooting and started a new life. In 2019, he became a top player, winning the World Championship, and consistently performed well in each tournament he participated in.
