Baek Seung-ho sought a new way out through the transfer market this summer after his team Birmingham's shocking relegation to the English third division in the 2023-2024 season.
Clubs such as Leeds United and Sheffield United are said to have shown interest thanks to their impressive performances in the Championship (Part 2).
But Birmingham's answer was 'NO'. This is the news that came at the deadline of the transfer market (deadline).
Birmingham agreed to transfer Japanese midfielder Miyoshi Koji, known as Baek Seung-ho's 'best friend', to Bochum, Germany, but decided to leave Baek Seung-ho alone.
Nizar Kinsella, a reporter for the British public broadcaster 『BBC" said on the 31st that "Birmingham midfielder Baek Seung-ho was asked by the Championship Club after the shock relegation. But Birmingham have so far turned down all inquiries for a quick promotion to the second tier" he said.
Birmingham is not even being inquired, let alone negotiated, according to the Kinsella article. In a nutshell, he declared 'Not For Sale' (Never for sale).
In a comprehensive article on the transfer market deadlines, the British daily 『Telegraph" likewise rejected all offers for Baek Seung-ho today" he said.

He played the top K-League for three years at Jeonbuk, which joined in 2021, and was also selected for the A national team and experienced the Qatar World Cup. Last year, he led South Korea to its third consecutive victory at the Hangzhou Asian Games as captain of Hwang Sun-hong. Baek Seung-ho, who received a military service exemption, joined Birmingham in January and achieved his goal of re-entering Europe.
Birmingham played in 18 games (one goal) and did its part even when it was hovering at the bottom of the team due to its complacent management, such as entrusting the manager to Wayne Rooney, who is famous for his lack of ability.
Seeking a way out after Birmingham relegation. I expected good news around the deadline of the transfer market. In the meantime, he played full-time in three third-division games in his Birmingham uniform and played in two League Cups. However, Birmingham, which appointed former Tottenham coach Chris Davis as its new head coach in June, judged Baek Seung-ho as an essential resource and turned down the offer. Baek Seung-ho is under contract with Birmingham until June 2026.
