In the 2009 season, he won 12 games in 24 starts and secured the starting position for the main line. He also scored 139 strikeouts in earnest. In 2010, he won 16 games and struck out 145.

Starting with 165 strikeouts in the 2014 season, he consistently took charge of KIA's mound with more than 100 strikeouts for 10 consecutive seasons until this season.
