'The Future of Korean Table Tennis' Oh Jun-sung (18, Mirae Asset Securities) retook the top of the men's singles in the general division of the presidential national table tennis competition.

Oh Jun-sung defeated his senior team Woo Hyung-kyu (21) 3-1 (11-8, 11-9, 4-11, 13-11) in the men's singles final of the 40th presidential national table tennis tournament held at Gwangju Women's University Universiade Gymnasium on the 19th.

The presidential flag is special to Oh Jun-sung, the second generation of Mirae Asset Securities' director. Two years ago, Oh Jun-sung, who was a freshman in the 38th edition of the 2022 competition, caused a stir by beating all of his business seniors and winning the championship. Oh Jun-sung, who gained confidence, dropped out of high school immediately after winning the championship and joined the Mirae Asset Securities business team. Since joining the team, he has improved his skills by winning the men's singles at the general championship last year and winning the finals in May this year, drawing expectations for the future of men's table tennis.

Meanwhile, in the women's singles final, Samsung Life's naturalized ace Joo Chun-hee (22) beat POSCO International veteran Yang Ha-eun (30) 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-6) to win. Joo Chun-hee, ranked 22nd in the world, is also expected to lead the future of women's table tennis in Korea with Shin Yoo-bin and Kim Na-young ahead of the 2028 LA Olympics.

Meanwhile, the presidential national table tennis competition will be followed by university and middle and high school games after the men's and women's general competitions on the 19th.
