"It's world class to win a gold medal!"

Shin Yu-bin (Korean Air) lost 0-4 to Chen Meng (world No. 4) in the semifinals of the Paris Olympics on the 2nd (Korea time). Shin Yu-bin will play the bronze medal match at 8:30 p.m. on the 3rd against the loser of the semifinal between Sun Yingxia (China) and Hina Hayata (Japan).

In a mixed zone interview shortly after the match, Shin Yu-bin said, `First of all, I think the opponent was better", he admitted. "Still. There were similar parts, but I'm a little disappointed because I think I made an easy mistake because the opponent held out so strongly. But the game isn't over yet. I will rest well again, empty my head, and prepare for the next game with the mindset that I will start again."

Although he did not reach the final, Shin Yu-bin is the third player in the history of Korean women's table tennis to reach the semifinals after Hyun Jung-hwa (1992 Barcelona Dong) and Kim Kyung-ah (2004 Athens Dong). When asked if he thinks it is a world class, referring to the great genealogy, Shin Yu-bin smiled and shook his head vigorously. "I've come this far because I've just played one game, and I'm so honored to be able to do this, and I want to do well in the rest of the game."," he replied. When asked what Shin Yu-bin thought the world class should be, he answered immediately. "Shouldn't we get a gold medal?"

`In the Olympics, I don't know what will happen even if I win or lose, so I just focus on one point and try not to collapse as much as possible,' he said.

Now, Shin Yu-bin is trying to win the bronze medal for the first time in 20 years. Hyun Jung-hwa and Kim Kyung-ah are the only Korean women's singles medalists. Shin Yoo-bin, who has written history of advancing to the semifinals, will challenge for the third singles medalist. She will also challenge Korea's first multi-medal medal in women's table tennis. Shin Yu-bin won the mixed doubles bronze medal with Lim Jong-hoon (Korea Exchange) on the 30th, bringing his first medal in 12 years to Korean table tennis. If he wins a bronze medal in singles, he will be the third multi-medal and the first in women's table tennis after Yoo Nam-kyu (director of the Korea Exchange, singles gold-double bronze) of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and Kim Taek-soo (director of Mirae Asset) of the singles and doubles bronze in 1992.

As the world's No. 1 Sun Ying-sha's iron wall is solid, if there is no unexpected change 'Japan's top ranker' Hayata is likely to be the opponent for the bronze medal match. Hayata's record is four losses and five losses including the Japanese professional league. All-time records are at an absolute disadvantage, but sports are at a high ebb.
