While Gen.G and Hanwha Life e-Sports have confirmed their advance to the playoffs early, attention is being paid to the results of Kwangdong Freaks this week.

In the 8th week of '2024 LCK Summer', which will be held at LCK Arena in Roll Park, Jongno-gu, Seoul from the 7th to the 11th, Kwangdong Freaks will face KT Rollster and BNK Pierx in succession, which are competing for the playoffs.

Guangdong Fricks will meet KT Rollster on the 7th and BNK Pierx on the 10th. Among the teams currently ranked below 7th until Week 7, only Kwangdong Freaks can advance to the playoffs on their own.

If they lose both of these games, it will be virtually impossible to advance to the playoffs on their own.

Guangdong Fricks fell to seventh place as they lost consecutive games at the end of the first round and early in the second round, but they beat Nongshim Red Force last week and escaped from five consecutive losses. Currently, Kwangdong Freaks, which is 6-8, has to catch KT Rolster and BNK Pierx, who have 7 wins and 7 losses.

Guangdong Fricks showed their best performance even in the first round of summer, defeating KT Rolster and BNK Pierx 2-0. However, question marks arise as to whether Kwang-dong will be able to show its skills in the first round again as it has recently suffered consecutive losses.

KT Rolster is also in a bad mood. In the last game, his concentration was so disturbed that he collapsed weakly 2-0 to OK Savings Bank Brion, who failed to advance to the playoffs early.

Playoffs Remaining

There are four tickets left in the playoffs, where six teams advance. DRX and Nongshim's Red Force, which have only won three games by Week 7, may act as variables at the end of summer. DRX will face Gen.G and Hanwha Life eSports this week, while Nongshim Red Force will face T1 and D-Plus Kia. Although the opponent's team's power is judged to be one level above them, there is no law not to show 'Upset'. If the lower-ranked teams make an unexpected event, the battle for playoff tickets is expected to become even fiercer.
