SSG beat KIA 10-4 at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 29th. While starter Kim Kwang-hyun kept the mound by allowing four runs in six innings, Herredia and Choi Jung collaborated on three RBIs each in the batting lineup. Kim Sung-hyun played a role as a link in the top batting order by making three hits, and Han Yu-seom helped with a wedge two-run shot. SSG, which lost consecutive games to KIA from the 27th to the 28th, had to be satisfied with its victory to avoid the sweep loss. The season record was 59 wins, 1 draw and 64 losses. KIA struggled with Kim Do-young's three RBIs, including a tie-breaking two-run shot, but starter Eric Lauer was sluggish with five runs in five innings, and Lim Ki-young, who took the mound afterwards, also bowed his head as he allowed three runs. KIA had 73 wins, 2 draws and 49 losses.
The beginning was a battle of battles.

SSG brought the lead back in the top of the second inning. After two outs, Kim Sung-hyun's left-handed hit and Oh Tae-gon's double over the center fielder's height scored additional points, and Herredia also hit a timely hit to lead 3-1. However, KIA re-balanced 3-3 in the bottom of the third inning when Kim Sun-bin's double to right field followed Kim Do-young's two-run shot to the middle of the third inning.

SSG, which maintained the gap, again brought the lead with a home run.
Kim Sung-hyun, the leadoff batter, got on base with a hit to right-center against Lim Ki-young, who took the mound in place of Lauer in the top of the sixth inning. With one out and second base leading to Oh Tae-gon's sacrifice bunt, Herredia shot a two-run shot to the left, widening the gap to 7-4. In the top of the seventh inning, Lee Ji-young added one more point to lead to 8-4 as he made a timely hit against KIA Kim Seung-hyun with one out and second base made by Ha Jae-hoon's successful walk and steal.
SSG, which kept its lead by operating the bullpen from the bottom of the seventh inning, widened the gap to 10-4 in the top of the ninth inning when Han Yoo-sum fired a two-run shot against KIA Yoo Ji-sung. At the bottom of the ninth inning, closer Cho Byung-hyun pitched a scoreless pitch to complete a six-point victory.
