'If it's less than nine minutes, you're going to marry me!' After setting a new European record, I proposed to my boyfriend on the knee, and my beautiful sister in the world
"If you run under 9 minutes, you'll marry me!"

French track star Alys Pinot, 33, who set a European record in the women's 3,000m steeplechase, offered her boyfriend the sweetest proposal in the world shortly after crossing the finish line.

Pinot finished fourth overall in the women's 3,000m steeplechase at the Paris Olympics with a time of 8:58.67. Winfred Yabi (Barrain), Perus Chemutai (Uganda) and Pais Cherotich (Kenya) missed the medal with gold, silver and bronze medals but cheered after setting his best record as well as Europe's on the Olympic stage in his own country.

Pinot, who won the best female athlete award given by the French Athletics Federation last year, rushed toward the stands as soon as she checked the record. He proposed to his boyfriend Bruno Martinez, a triathlete and engineer, by kneeling down and handing something over. Martinez smiled brightly and warmly embraced her proud girlfriend and companion, Pinot.

Paris is a city of love. After the badminton mixed doubles awards ceremony on the 2nd, a romantic movie moved to the field this time, following a movie-like proposal in which Liu Yu-chen, a "Chinese female ace" who faced Jung Na-eun and Lee Won-ho-jo in the final, gave a diamond ring to Huang Ya-chung. This time, an unusual female player knelt down.Pinot said "I told myself that if I ran nine minutes below the lucky number, I'd be with this man for nine years. I don't like to do the same thing that everyone does. He hasn't proposed yet, so I thought I'd try. I gave him a pin with the inscription 'Love is in Paris' (L'amour est a Paris). I ran hoping he'd give me the power to run under nine minutes," he said with a big smile.
