The New York Yankees 'Double Four' exploded again.

Juan Soto hit his 36th homer of the season and Aaron Judge hit his 46th homer of the season.

The Yankees won an 8-1 home game against the Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium on the 22nd (Korea time) with two early home runs by the two big guns.

The Yankees, who lost three consecutive games, marked 74 wins and 53 losses and regained the lead in the American League (AL) East. On the same day, the Baltimore Orioles (74-54) lost to the New York Mets 3-4, falling to second place by half a game.

When Soto hit a first home run in the first inning, Judge hit an additional home run in the third inning and a wedge home run in the seventh inning.

The Yankees had a chance in the bottom of the first inning when Gleyber Torres hit a left-handed hit. Soto then took the batter's box and hit Cleveland left-hander Joey Cantillo's 92.4-mile fastball outside the first pitch to connect with a two-run shot that flew well over the center fence. He hit his 36th homer of the season with a 30-degree launch angle, a 112.4-mile batting speed and a 427-foot flying distance.

As a result, Soto broke his season-high 35 home runs recorded by the San Diego Padres last year and further increased the FA's ransom to be negotiated later this year. Soto showed off his strength to hit eight home runs in the last nine games, including his first three-home run game against the Chicago White Sox on the 14th.

Judge's bat was also fired to get behind this. When Soto walked after one out in the bottom of the third inning with a 2-0 lead, Judge, who entered the batter's box for the second time, pushed a 77-mile curve of Cantillo's fifth pitch in 2B2S and crossed the right-center fence. A two-run homer with an angle of 36 degrees, a batting speed of 103.9 miles and a driving distance of 378 feet.

Soto's bat also exploded in his third at-bat in the fifth inning with a 4-0 lead. Soto, who came to the batter's box with two outs and a bases loaded, slightly touched Cantillo's changeup outside 79.5 miles on the sixth pitch from the full count, leading to a double flowing on the left-field line on third base, bringing all three runners home. The Yankees took a 7-0 lead, effectively deciding the game.

Judge then kicked a fastball in the middle of right-hander Ellie Morgan's seventh pitch 93.9 miles with a full count after one out in the bottom of the seventh inning and crossed the right fence to seal the victory. The angle of launch is 33 degrees, the speed of the ball is 102.5 miles, and the distance is 356 feet.

Judge, who recorded his 46th and 47th home runs of the season, can hit 60 home runs if he maintains his current pace until the end of the season. Attention is focusing on whether he can break the American League (AL) record of 62 home runs set two years ago.

This is the 11th time Soto and Judge have hit home runs side by side in one game since Soto wore a uniform as a Yankees last winter. The Yankees went 9-2 in that game. Among them, there were five back-to-back home runs this season, including the game against Cleveland the previous day.

On this day, Soto went 2 for 3 with 5 RBIs, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, and Judge went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. It is the second time this season that Soto has scored five RBIs after the Houston Astros on May 9.

Soto marked a season batting average of 0.302 (37 hits in 454ㅏ), 36 home runs, 93 RBIs, 106 runs, an on-base percentage of 0.433, a slugging percentage of 0.612, OPS of 1.048, and Judge marked a batting average of 0.334 (149 hits in 446 at-bats), 47 home runs, 117 RBIs, 99 runs, an on-base percentage of 0.465, a slugging percentage of 0.722 and OPS of 1.187, respectively. In both the on-base percentage and OPS categories, Judge ranks first and Soto ranks second respectively in both leagues.
