In the presidential cup KeG national final held at Asan Yi Sun-shin Gymnasium in Chungcheongnam-do on the 18th, Jeonbuk ranked first in the 'League of Legends (LoL)' and second in the 'FC Online' event. Jeonbuk's overall score was 163 points, beating second-ranked Gyeongnam (150 points).
The Jeonbuk 'LoL' team, consisting of Sung Tae-hyo, Jung Yong-joon, Yoon Do-hyun, Ryu Kang-min and Lee Jae-hee, lost to Incheon Metropolitan City in the first set of the final, but showed a scary background of bringing in the second and third sets in a row.
In an interview shortly after winning the championship, Ryu Kang-min, the team's captain, said, `I didn't expect such a good result in the preliminary round,' `I restored my form by playing the game, and I was able to win the championship.' The Presidential Cup KeG is an amateur e-sports competition with the government and the private sector to promote balanced growth of professional and amateur players. More than 900 people, including representatives from 16 metropolitan cities, participated in the competition, which was held from the 17th to the day. Professional gamers discovered through the competition, which began in 2007, include Kang Seung-rok of 'LoL', 'Kan'Kim Dong-ha, and 'Chobi'Jung Ji-hoon.
