San Diego Padres Kim Ha-sung will miss for two consecutive days.

Kim Ha-sung was again excluded from the starting lineup for the away game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park at 7:40 a.m. on the 8th (hereinafter Korean time).

Kim Ha-sung, who was out of the lineup before the game due to right arm triceps pain the previous day, has been benched for two consecutive days with the same symptoms.

The San Diego team is unlikely to put Kim Ha-sung on the injured list (IL) immediately. CBS Sports reported that the club is considering listing on the day-to-day list to decide whether to play or not while watching the situation every day.

On the previous day, San Diego coach Mike Shildt came out on the field and included him in the starting lineup as the sixth shortstop even after receiving a report that `Kim Ha-sung has triceps pain since the 6th.' It was assumed that the condition would have improved.

However, when Kim Ha-sung complained of triceps pain during batting training, he urgently replaced the lineup about an hour before the start of the game. Tyler Wade was used as the starting shortstop instead of Kim Ha-sung.

Director Mike Shildt said at the time, `I want to make sure I do something before something happens"We will diagnose how long Kim Ha-sung's injury will last" he said. It means the injury is not light.

Kim Ha-sung also told local media that he has muscle problems. I felt discomfort in my right arm from yesterday. I've been swinging since early today and the pain is still there. I don't know if it will be okay by tomorrow."

Kim Ha-sung has never been on the IL for four years since entering the Major League in 2021. Kim Ha-sung has a reputation as a player who does not get hurt easily. Durability is considered the biggest strength along with the utilization of shortstop and all infield positions. But the injuries do not seem so light at the moment.

It is the first time that Kim Ha-sung will miss this year due to injury, and he has not missed two consecutive games before.

Earlier, Kim Ha-sung missed the away game against the Cincinnati Reds on May 22 for the first time this season, and at that time, he played in all 51 games until the previous day and was benched for rest. Then, he missed the away game against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 19 because of his consideration to rest, not because of his injury.

It is worth saying that Kim Ha-sung's physical condition, which has recently been suffering from poor batting, is not normal.

Kim Ha-sung had 16 hits and two walks in five games from the LA Dodgers on the 31st of last month to the Colorado Rockies on the 5th. The batting average fell from 0.232 to 0.223. He played 967 ⅔ in 111 games as a shortstop who was physically depleted due to the burden of defense. He is ranked 10th in the defensive innings category among all players in both leagues.

Kim Ha-sung defended 1,263 ⅓ innings as shortstop and third baseman in 2022, and 1,263 ⅓ innings last year based on second baseman. He defended the same amount of innings for two consecutive years. However, at the current pace this season, he will defend 1,363 innings.

It is known that the bushing is not serious enough to be listed on the IL. But it doesn't seem bad to take a break for a while for the overall 'Reset'.
