The Korea Sports Association will hold the 36th Seoul Olympic Memorial International Conference from Aug. 22 to Aug. 23

The 88 Seoul Olympic Memorial International Academic Conference has been held every year since 1988, and this year marks the 36th edition. Hosted by the Korean Sports Association and Sunmoon University, the international academic conference begins with the opening speech of Chairman Lee Han-kyung, and the welcoming speech of Sunmoon University President Moon Sung-je will be held. There will be congratulatory speeches from Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Yoo In-chon, Chungcheongnam-do Governor Kim Tae-heum, Korea Sports Council Chairman Lee Ki-heung, Korea Sports Promotion Foundation Chairman Cho Hyun-jae, and Korea Sports Association Chairman Chung Jin-wan. At the opening ceremony, events such as demonstrations by the Sunmoon University Dance Demonstration Team (supervisor Choi Jong-kyun) are prepared. Kim Joo-yeon, an academic director (professor at Yongin University), who headed the preparation committee for this international academic conference, introduced the background of the event, saying, `We intend to explore the future-oriented development direction of the physical education community through discussions on cultural diversity in sports.'
The event will be held in English on the 22nd, with the first part consisting of the direction of 'better' policy governance to strengthen global sports capabilities (Dongju Choi, Sookmyung Women's University), digital culture, anthropology and sports (Thiele, TU Dortmund University), and a comparison between Korea and Japan (Young Mi Jung, Shokei University) in major classes in physical health. The second part of the presentation consists of the future direction of kinematics (Senshi Fukashiro, Japan Women's College of Physical Education), and the study of kinematic physiology on the effects of proteins on muscle growth (Changhyun Lim, Newcastle University). The next day, on the 23rd, oral and poster presentations will be held by 16 sub-disciplinary societies of the Korean Sports Association.
Lee Han-kyung, president of the Korean Sports Association, said, `We hope that the presentation by scholars working in Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan will be a time to share overseas trends and information related to sports and strengthen communication on cultural diversity"I hope that the successful hosting of international academic conferences will serve as an opportunity to enhance the status of the Korean Sports Association.
