Korean Women's Boxing First Olympic Medal Lim Ae-ji Receives 30 Million Won Award

Lim Ae-ji received 30 million won from the Korea Boxing Association through a reward delivery ceremony at Gimcheon Indoor Gymnasium, where the 54th Presidential National Boxing Competition will be held.
Lim Ae-ji participated in the women's 54kg class at the Paris Olympics, beat Colombia's Yeni Marcella Arias Castaneda in the quarterfinals with a 3-2 decision to secure a bronze medal and became the first medalist in women's boxing in 12 years since the London Olympics. In the semifinals, he tried to advance to the finals by performing well against Atise Akbashi (Turkiye), but unfortunately lost by a decision of 2-3, and had to be satisfied with the bronze medal.
Lim Ae-ji won the gold medal at the 2017 AIBA World Youth Women's Championship and became the first gold medalist at the Korean Women's Boxing World Championship, followed by the first Korean women's boxing Olympics at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Chairman Choi Chan-woong, who took office as chairman of the Korea Boxing Association on January 3, awarded 10 million won each to Lim Ae-ji and Oh Yeon-ji, who won the right to participate in the Paris Olympics.
In addition, a reward (100 million won in gold, 50 million won in silver, and 30 million won in bronze) will be awarded to athletes who won medals at the Paris Olympics.
