The Korean Volleyball Federation (OVO) continues to work hard to improve and advance league operations. In order to strengthen international competitiveness, regulations introduced at international competitions in line with international trends are reflected in the V-League.

Starting with Kim Se-jin, the head of the division, who will serve a second term in the 2024-2025 season, the federation discussed the standards for video reading, as well as differences between the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) rules and local rules in Korea, and reorganized the rules for the upcoming Dodram 2024-2025 V-League. The main regulations that have been overhauled are the regulations of international volleyball currently in effect at the FIVB, such as the number of video readings, green card regulations, and intermediate (middle rally) readings.

Regarding video readings, the number of applications was previously possible once per set, but it was increased to two per set, and video readings, which were only available after the end of the rally, will be changed to immediately request a reading of fouls that have not been ruled as a referee in the middle of the rally. The regulations will be introduced on a trial basis at the 2024 KOVO Cup Professional Volleyball Championship and will be reviewed further to decide whether to apply them to the V-League.

The green card system was introduced by the FIVB from 2023 to enhance the fair play value of volleyball games and reduce unnecessary video reading time. The green card is given to the player when the referee's video reading signal first acknowledges the foul and raises his hand when the video reading request is made. In addition, the federation will apply the system from the upcoming Dodram 2024-2025 V-League and apply it as a selection criterion for the Fair Play Award in the regular league awards through accumulated scores of green cards.

Meanwhile, we are preparing to develop an AI-based reading system for league advancement and more accurate video reading. It is in the early stages of system development, such as reviewing related technologies for each video reading item. When the development of the AI-based reading system is completed, the game is expected to proceed with a more accurate and reliable decision.

In addition, for internationalization, the federation successfully finished the season by replacing the Mikasa Ball, which was used as a tool in the FIVB-hosted competition last season, with a V-League tool. Kang So-hwi, who participated in the 2024 VNL event after the end of the season, said, `It was certainly easy to get used to or adapt to the senses, and there was less anxiety about having to adapt to the ball again"I gave a positive opinion on the replacement of the tool.

In addition, it sought to increase the inflow of overseas fans by expanding the target countries of the Asian quarter player system along with the existing foreign player system. The federation continues to make various efforts to internationalize the league, such as maximizing the inflow of overseas fans by signing contracts for overseas broadcasting rights in July.
