Lee Han-bit lost in the first round of women's wrestling in 'Dramatic Train to Paris' by giving up North Korean athletes

There was no miracle. Lee Han-bit (Wanju County Office) of women's wrestling, who entered Paris dramatically, lost the first round.

Lee Han-bit lost 0-3 to Louisa Nimesch (Germany) in the round of 16 of the women's 62kg freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympics held at the Chandmars Stadium in Paris, France on the 9th (Korea time).

Lee Han-bit dramatically won the ticket to Paris. Lee Han-bit was eliminated from the semifinals of the Asian Quarter Games at the Paris Olympics in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in April and did not qualify. However, North Korea's Moon Hyun-kyung, who was scheduled to participate in the Paris Olympics, returned her ticket on the 1st and took a dramatic flight to Paris.

Lee Han-bit, who suddenly qualified for the Olympics and failed to train properly, endured Nimesh's offensive well, but unfortunately did not lead to victory.

In the first period, Lee Han-bit held out well and lost two points first, allowing a single-leck tackle to lift his left foot and knock him down. Lee Han-bit was declared passive with 1:58 left in the second period, and he lost one more point to Nimesh after failing to score for 30 seconds.

Lee Han-bit can aim for a medal through a loser revival if his opponent in the round of 16, Nimesh, reaches the final. The women's 62kg freestyle loser revival match and final match will be held on the 10th.
