Yoo Dong-joo, who finished the increase in 7th place, got off to a good start with 203kg in the first period of Yongsang. Yoo Dong-joo said, "This was the third Olympics in Paris. Yoo Dong-joo finished 14th in the 85kg class at the 2016 Rio Games and 8th in the 96kg class at the previous Tokyo Games. Ahead of the event, Yoo Dong-joo showed his strong will to win the medal, saying `Three times for men.' Yoo Dong-ju, who had a total of 340kg at the Rio Olympics and 360kg at the Tokyo Olympics, had to increase his total record to 371kg at the event and be satisfied with ranking sixth, an individual record.



Meanwhile, Carlos Nasar (Bulgaria) won the match with a total world record of 404kg (180kg in raise and 224kg in meltdown). It is a new record that exceeds the previous world record of 396kg set by Li Dain (China) at the Jinju Asian Championships in May 2023 by 8kg. Jayson López (Colombia) won the silver medal with a total of 390kg (180kg in snatch and 210kg in melt), and Antonio Pizzorato (Italy) won the bronze medal with a total of 384kg (172kg in snatch and 212kg in melt).
