In the women's 3-meter springboard preliminary round at the 2024 Paris Olympics held at the Aquatic Center in Paris, France on the 8th (Korea time), Kim Soo-ji ranked 13th out of 18 with a total of 272.75 points in the first to fifth periods. Kim Soo-ji attempted to advance to the finals for the first time in Korean women's diving, but unfortunately was not included in the top 12. It was just one step short. Although she failed to advance on her own, Kim Su-ji became a 'Reserve' to get a chance if there was a problem among the finalists.
Kim Su-ji wrote a new history on the first day. In the preliminary round held on the 7th, he scored a total of 285.50 points in the first to fifth periods, ranking 11th out of 28 players. Qualified for the semi-finals, which the top 18 receive. Kim Su-ji, the first Korean diver to pass the Olympic qualifying round at the Tokyo Games, made it to the semifinals for the second time in a row.
Kim Soo-ji started fresh in seventh place with 58.50 points due to her 405B postponement in the first period. However, in the second and third periods, he failed to accumulate points and fell to 15th place. In the fourth period, he was ranked again with a score of 58.50 points with a 305B. In the final period, Kim Soo-ji, who attempted to act 5152B, scored 57.00 points. He raised his ranking to a total of 272.75 points, but unfortunately failed to advance to the final.
Kim Su-ji won a bronze medal in the women's 3-meter springboard at the 2024 World Championships in Doha held in February this year. Kim Su-ji, who became the first Korean diving world swimming champion to take third place in the 1m springboard at the 2019 Gwangju World Championships, also harvested a medal in Doha in 2024. Kim Soo-ji also won a bronze medal in the mixed 3-meter springboard by working with Lee Jae-kyung (Incheon Metropolitan City Sports Council) at the Doha World Championships.
In November last year, he won two medals at the Doha World Championships despite not having enough training due to a torn cartilage in his left knee. Kim Soo-ji was not normal enough to not be able to train at all due to muscle pain and neuralgia even ahead of this tournament, but she succeeded in advancing to the semifinals with a surprising fighting spirit. Kim Soo-ji, who set the first Korean diving record in succession, challenged a new era of advancing to the finals at the Paris Olympics, but unfortunately failed to achieve her goal.
