Kang Sun-hee (Hanjeon KPS), a member of the Boccia national team, who took the Paralympic stage for the first time at the age of 47, won two consecutive games in the group qualifying round for the women's individual event (BC3), signaling a green light for the quarterfinals.

Kang Sun-hee defeated Evelyn Oliviera of Brazil 7-0 in the second round of the women's individual Group C qualifying round for the 2024 Paris Paralympics held at Sud Paris Arena 1 in France on the night of the 31st (Korea time). Kang Sun-hee, who beat Jamieson Listen (Australia) 6-1 in the first round the previous day, won two consecutive games, raising her chances of advancing to the quarterfinals tournament. The final opponent in the third round is Sally Kidson of England.

Kang Sun-hee, who scored one point at the first end, added one point each at the second and third ends to take a 3-0 lead. In the final fourth end, a bold pitch that hit only the opponent's blue ball close to the target ball shone. When the opponent fought back by sending the ball near the target ball again, he showed an accurate pitch to stick the red ball closer.

Kang Sun-hee, who won two consecutive games with a bold strategy, said, `My goal was to get the first step well, but I think I can make the next game more comfortable by winning two consecutive games.' Then "I was actually a little nervous. As I hesitated, I had a hard time because I didn't play well"I think I got a good result in scoring a lot of points at the end because I was leading " (to the third end)."

Kang Sun-hee is a strong candidate for the gold medal in the BC3 pair event paired with Jung Ho-won (Gangwon Provincial Sports Council for the Disabled). In fact, however, this is the first Paralympic Games. Kang Sun-hee is working with the idea that it is like any other international competition. Surprisingly, the opposing players seem to be nervous under pressure"Let's let go of our minds and have fun"," he said with a big smile.

Kidson, who just happens to face off in the third round, has experience in international competitions in the past. Kang Sun-hee said, `I know well, so I want to focus until the end and win. We also had a joint training session at the National Training Center earlier this year. "I think I've improved a lot recently. It's not easy, but I think it's going to be an interesting game."

Meanwhile, the youngest member of the Korean team, Seo Min-gyu (19, Ansan Sports Council for the Disabled), failed to pass the group qualifying round for the men's individual event (BC2). Seo Min-kyu, who won the first round of Group B qualifying the previous day, failed to advance to the quarterfinals after losing in the second and third rounds.

Seo Min-gyu said, "I've been preparing for four years, but I'm so sorry that I couldn't produce good results. I think I need to prepare well again and aim for the individual competition in four years"I'll risk my life in the rest of the team event."I vowed.
