The winner was the Samsung Lions.
Samsung won a thrilling victory with Park Byung-ho's winning home run after the 11th inning of extra time.
Samsung won the match against the KIA Tigers at KIA Champions Field in Gwangju on the 11th with a solo home run to the left side by leadoff hitter Park Byung-ho in the top of the 11th inning when the score was 4-4. Samsung, which won after a fierce neck-and-neck race of more than four hours, broke the chain of six consecutive losses against KIA that has continued since the Daegu game on July 2.
Park Byung-ho hit a come-from-behind solo home run against KIA's new foreigner Eric Lauer, who made his debut in the top of the fourth inning at 3-3, and a dramatic finishing home run in the 11th inning, making him the hero of the victory with a multi-homer in 739 days since the match against Changwon NC on August 3, 2022.
Kim Jae-yoon, who took the mound after one out in the eighth inning when the score was 4-4, laid a stepping stone to the victory with two perfect innings. Oh Seung-hwan, who took the mound at first base with no outs in the 12th inning, secured a one-run lead without losing a point and made 27 saves.
New foreign pitcher Eric Lauer's KBO League debut. KIA's batting lineup focused from the bottom of the first inning.
Top hitter Park Chan-ho, who returned after maternity leave, opened the door with a heavy hit. With two outs and a third base, Na Sung-bum pulled Samsung starter Reyes' high cutter and hit a clothesline ball over the right-center fence. A ball that Koo Ja-wook gave up while following. It was a pre-emptive two-run shot.
KIA advanced to third base while Socrates' right-handed hit was passed back by the right fielder, and Kim Sun-bin's critical hit made it 3-0 at once.

In the bottom of the second inning, Kang Min-ho, the leader, pulled a high cutter 141km from the 9th pitch like a flashlight and crossed the left pole. The solo shot of the 16th chase of the season.

The 3-3 tie was broken in the top of the fourth inning by Park Byung-ho. After one out, he pulled Lauer's 134-kilometer cutter and hit a 120-meter-long solo home run that far exceeded the left-center fence. Park Byung-ho hit 10 home runs for the 11th consecutive 12th season.
KIA brought the game back to square one with Park Chan-ho's short-cut timely hit to the right in the bottom of the seventh inning with one out and one on the first and third bases made by lead Lee Woo-sung Han Jun-su's consecutive hits. However, it was regrettable that Choi Won-joon's strikeout and Na Sung-bum's outfield fly ball destroyed the chance to turn the tables on the second and third bases with one out made of catcher foil.
Both teams' batters entered the extended game without further targeting the opponent's bullpen, which faced all-out bullpen games.

KIA's top hitter Park Chan-ho, who returned after his second daughter's maternity leave, served as a catalyst for the lineup with three hits with a short break. Socrates also had three hits and Kim Sun-bin also played multi-hit.
|
However, until the fifth inning with a 4-3 lead, he played the role of the starting pitcher with seven hits, no four outs, one strikeout, and three runs with up to 150km of four-seam, two-seam, and sweeper.
Samsung recorded its third all-starter hit this season with Kim Young-woong's right-handed hit after two outs in the top of the 10th inning.
