Park Joo-hyo (26, Goyang City Hall), the icon of human victory, ranked 7th in the first Olympics of his life.

Park Joo-hyo lifted 147kg in the men's 73kg weightlifting event at the 2024 Paris Olympics at South Paris Arena 6 in Paris, France on the 9th (Korea time) and recorded a total of 334kg by lifting 187kg in the weightlifting event. Park finished the first Olympics in seventh place out of 12 players.

Park Joo-hyo failed to weigh 146kg in the first period of the increase. I couldn't stand up in the process of lifting. Park Joo-hyo, who succeeded in the second period when he increased to 147kg, fell backward while lifting the barbell in the third period when he challenged 150kg and fell on his hip.

In Yongsang, he failed 187kg in the first period and succeeded in the second period. In the third period, he tried 196kg to win a bronze medal, but Babel moved back.

Park Joo-hyo was diagnosed with level 5 disability two years ago due to spinal surgery. It was such a severe injury that I was paralyzed from the waist down. He underwent a major surgery to fix four iron cores, but he won the Olympic berth after a year of rehabilitation with remarkable resilience. Park Joo-hyo showed good performance at the 2024 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Cup before this tournament and won a ticket to Paris. The IWF limited the quota for each country at the Paris Olympics to three men, three women, and a maximum of six, and the Korean Weightlifting Federation selected Park Joo-hyo as the national team after examining the possibility of winning a medal.

Park Joo-hyo took the Olympic stage with her amazing tenacity to weightlifting, and unfortunately failed to win a medal, but ranked seventh in the world.
