Kim Ji-sung won the round final held at Red Force PC Arena Sadang branch in Sadang-dong, Seoul on the 24th, beating former professional gamer Jang Yoon-chul 3-2. Kim Ji-sung gave up the first set to Jang Yoon-chul's offensive against volume, but in the second set, he won and balanced the opponent's resources well with timing rush.
In the third set, Kim Ji-sung, who was on the verge of losing due to Jang Yoo-chul's dragoon, succeeded in counterattack in the fourth set and eventually took the lead in the center, won the GG to Jang Yoon-chul and was honored as the first winner since the launch of the competition.
Kim Ji-sung said, `I'm so happy to win my first competition. I'm looking forward to the final game of the season in October. I will play well in the second and third rounds so that I can perform well in the season final."
The PSL, an open-type competition in which all amateur players, including former and current professional gamers, can participate, was created by Jung Soo-young and Kim Min-ki, who led KTF and STX respectively during the period of 「StarCraft 1」, in collaboration with PNB CEO Kim Kwang-seok, and played the first round for three weeks earlier this month. Six players will be selected in the round of 22 on the 25th, and Kim Ji-sung and Jang Yoon-cheol will play in the quarterfinals of the second round on the 31st.
Like the first round, the second round will also be broadcast from the quarterfinals to the semifinals, and the final will be broadcast online through the Africa TV PNB esports channel. This time, former legendary professional gamer Kang Min will be the commentator along with former MBC game star caster Kim Chul-min, and former professional gamer Im Jin-mook will also join the commentator team from the second round.
After the second and third rounds, the season 1 final will be held in October. Jung Soo-young, the former coach and PNB e-sports general manager who created and ran the competition, feels fresh to start the competition again with "StarCraft 1". I was afraid because it's been a long time since I tried, but after one round, I felt even more confident"'Star1' is also the basis of e-sports and is expected to establish itself as a traditional e-sports. We ask for your continued interest in the future."
