Raheem Sterling (Chelsea)'s future is at stake.

Sterling was excluded from the entry for the second consecutive game. Chelsea will play the first round of the Europa Conference League playoffs in 2024-2025 season at 4 a.m. on the 23rd (Korea time) at Stamford Bridge in London, England.

Sterling, along with Ben Chilwell, Tosin Adarabioyo and Wesley Fofana, was not included in Chelsea's squad for UEFA. Therefore, he will not be able to play in the second round of the playoffs on the road.

Sterling made a statement when he was excluded from the entry in the opening match of the English Premier League (EPL) against Manchester City on the 19th. Sterling said "Sterling has three years left on his contract with Chelsea. Sterling joined the team two weeks earlier to train. I had a good pre-season under the new coach and built a good relationship with the coach. Sterling has always tried to show Chelsea and their fans the best"I let off the rhyme. Sterling played in all six of Chelsea's pre-season friendlies.

Sterling's side continued "We expected Sterling to be included in the official pre-match materials released by the club and play in this match."We have always had positive conversations with the club, and we have confidence in Sterling's future. So I'll wait for a clear answer from Chelsea," he stressed.

Chelsea lost 0-2 to Man City. Chelsea's new head coach, Enzo Maresca, said after the game that the exclusion of Sterling was a `technical reason,' adding that `not all 30 players can be included in the entry.'

Chelsea also recruited more than 12 players, including Pedro Netu, this summer. Maresca started Christopher Nkunku in place of Sterling and benched Mykhailo Mudryk, Netu, Marc Guiu and Noni Madueke.

Sterling was recognized as the best 'crack' in the league, with more than 30 goals in the 2019-2020 season when he was in Manchester City. Since moving to Chelsea for a transfer fee of 50 million pounds (about 87 billion won) in July 2022, he has been evaluated as a 'normal winger'.

Sterling played 81 games in two seasons for Chelsea, scoring just 19 goals. After the announcement of the statement, Sterling has been rumored to transfer to Juventus, Italy's Serie A prestigious club.
