Doosan announced an extension contract with Shirakawa on the 21st. The contract will be extended for 15 days for 1.4 million yen (about 12.7 million won).
There was no alternative. Shirakawa wore the Doosan uniform as a substitute for Brandon Waddell in early July.
Shirakawa, a former member of the Japanese independent baseball team, played for SSG Landers before Doosan. Shirakawa, who was 2-2 with a 5.09 ERA in five games, signed with Doosan, and went 2-2 with a 5.43 ERA in six games.
Although he showed some signs of shaking in the beginning at Doosan, he showed off his power by striking out three strikeouts and four hits in eight innings against Suwon KT Wiz on the 16th.

Brandon was placed on the rehabilitation list on June 28 with a left subcapsular muscle injury. He seemed to accelerate his return by pitching his first bullpen on the 3rd, completing his rehabilitation smoothly, but the timing of his return was undecided as he suffered pain once again. Brandon has currently suspended all training schedules.
After completing the contract, Doosan showed that the more they played, the better they got. I look forward to showing good pitching throughout the rest of the contract period."
