Cho Young-jae (24, Korean military athletic unit) gave the first medal to Korean shooting in the rapid fire pistol.

Cho Young-jae won a silver medal in the men's 25-meter rapid fire pistol final at the 2024 Paris Olympics at Chatoru Shooting Range in France on the 5th (Korea time). This is the first time that South Korean shooting has won an Olympic medal in a quickfire pistol.

Cho Young-jae will be discharged from the military on September 19th. The 10m air pistol was the main event, but after joining the army, he changed to 25m. Despite his short experience, he shot 591 points in the national team selection match, just two points behind his best record and world record (593 points), and earned a ticket to Paris. Despite being a rookie with insufficient international experience by wearing the national flag for the first time this year, he made an extraordinary difference in reaching the finals by ranking fourth overall with 589 points in the Olympic finals.

Cho Young-jae, who tied Korostirov for fourth place with six points while hitting three shots each in the first and second series, hit all five shots in the third series, instantly tying Wang Xun-je and Peter for second place. Cho Young-jae, who gained momentum, hit four shots in the fourth series and rose to first place alone with 15 points.

Cho Young-jae, who kept his No. 1 spot in the 5th series by matching four shots, missed three shots in a row after matching his first shot in the 6th series, but he succeeded in securing a medal by adding two points in the final shot and finishing second.

In the 7th series, Wang Xun-je got three shots and Li Weihong got four shots, and Cho Young-jae missed the first two shots, but he got three shots and pushed Wang Xun-je by one point to secure a silver medal.

the long-awaited Golden Series. Li Weh-hong, who took the lead with 27 points, secured the gold medal by making all five shots. Cho Young-jae, who was in the college without any pressure, only hit one out of five shots, but he celebrated his first Olympic medal with a big smile.

With Cho Young-jae's medal, Korean shooting won six medals in the event with three gold and three silver medals, surpassing the 2012 London Olympics (three gold and two silver medals) to achieve the highest Olympic performance ever.
