Since its launch, KBO has discussed sustainable growth with future generations

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) shared its concerns about sustainable growth with future generations.

KBO concluded its industry-academic cooperation program by holding a performance sharing meeting for the LINC3.0 project group and university innovation project group of 10 ESG industry-academic cooperation teams and 25 universities nationwide on the 14th.

'KBO NINE Season 2024' is an ESG industry-academic cooperation program for the sustainable development of the KBO League. LINC3.0 Project Group and University Innovation Project Group of 25 universities nationwide, including 10 clubs and Chung-Ang University, signed an agreement to conduct various activities for about three months. Each club invited students in charge to the stadium to conduct mentoring on ESG projects, and the participating students discovered ESG ideas necessary for each club through visits to the stadium and interviews with spectators.

In addition, online mentoring and ESG special lectures were held to enhance students' understanding of ESG business. Based on this, about 200 students discussed business ideas on topics such as 'Resolving Local Environmental Problems', 'Community Contribution Activities' and 'Securing Local Resident Population'. Mentors from each club directly gave their opinions to verify the feasibility and necessity of the idea, and students presented it at the performance sharing meeting.

KT Wiz Team Representative Kim Doong said, "I was able to gain hands-on experience in the team's marketing direction and ESG management, and I enjoyed the process of completing ideas with my team members for a long time"I will participate as a fan with more interest in the ESG activities that KBO will continue to do in the future " he added.

KT Wiz Article 26, which won the grand prize for the KBO president, received favorable reviews from the judges by submitting a project to upcycle wooden chopsticks used in the stadium into a mini table.

The KBO League, which is the biggest box office hit ever, exceeded at least 8 million spectators in the game. Marking the Liberation Day on the 15th, 86,139 spectators have been attracted at five stadiums, recording 8,192,300. It exceeded 8,100,326 spectators last year, and is on the verge of surpassing 8,406,688 in 2017, the highest ever.
