Sports Promotion Corporation to sign an early transfer agreement with Geochang-gun on the Ecolian golf course

At the signing ceremony held at the Seoul Olympic Parktel on the 13th, Chairman Cho Hyun-jae, Geochang-gun County Governor Koo In-mo and officials attended and promised to cooperate with each other for a smooth transition of the operation of the Eco-Lian Geochang Golf Course.
This agreement is the first step toward the transfer of five eco-friendly golf courses operated by the Sports Corporation to local governments in accordance with the innovation plan in the functional adjustment sector of public institutions confirmed in December 2022. Based on the results of a survey on the intention of early acquisition of five local governments in September last year, the Korea Sports Corporation decided to transfer the first early transfer to Geochang-gun, where final consultations on key conditions such as employment succession of operating personnel were completed.
The Sports Corporation will transfer the management and operation rights of golf courses, which it held until 2036 (or when the investment is recovered), to Geochang-gun as of January 1, 2025. Accordingly, Geochang-gun decided to repay about 7.2 billion won of the total investment of 15 billion won in installments over the next six years and succeed in employment without artificial restructuring of the operating personnel. In addition, in consideration of the main purpose of the eco-lian golf course, which is the popularization of golf, it was decided to maintain the function of the public golf course.
