Pepper Savings Bank, the youngest women's volleyball club, has started its second off-season training since its foundation.

Pepper Savings Bank started its first training schedule through basic skills training at Tamagawa Arena in Kawasaki City, Japan on the 19th. Tamagawa Arena is a training ground for the NEC Red Rockets, where Pepper Savings Bank formed a sisterhood relationship in 2022.

From Gwangju to Kawasaki, Japan, through Incheon, the day before, it could have been tiring to travel more than 10 hours, but the players seriously trained with a bright expression. The new coach Jang Ji-yeon said, `The players are following the training well even though they joke that they haven't even adjusted to the time difference", signaling a satisfactory start to the off-season training.

In the afternoon of the day, three teams, including Pepper Savings Bank, NEC Red Rockets and Gaetsu University, played a practice game. Pepper Savings Bank lost all two sets against Japan's V-Premier League winner NEC after a close game, but won a set against Gaetsu University.

Through this practice game, Pepper Savings Bank received a positive signal that the new players were slowly melting into the team. Libero Han Da-hye gave strength to the defense, which was considered a weakness, and Jang Wi, the first tall middle blocker in the Asian quarter, led Pepper Savings Bank's attack and proved himself to be a necessary player for the team.

Pepper Savings Bank, which played its first training schedule without difficulty, also expressed confidence in the upcoming season. Park Jung-ah, who has been captain for two consecutive seasons, said, `My goal is to go to spring volleyball and I'm training to get better every day" he said.

Answer questions and answers with director Jang Ji-yeon

-What was your first training session like.

▶We arrived in Japan yesterday because it took quite a long time. So in the morning, the players even joked "I'm not used to the time difference", but even with a lot of movement, the players seem to be in pretty good shape in the morning exercise. We will check how much we have prepared in a different environment and supplement those who can supplement it.

-What's the atmosphere of the team.

▶ Overall, the players have brightened up a lot. Even the players need to do better here now. And there is also a clear consciousness of the goal of winning. It seems that such an atmosphere is being created well now because there is a longing for that victory.

-If there are any strengths and things to learn from Japanese volleyball.

▶ Japanese volleyball has the advantage of having good basic skills overall. Our players have to match well because the defense is good.

-What do you focus on emphasizing the basics all the time.

▶Thick volleyball, but if you look inside it, there are many details. The details are eventually pulled out of the basics, but if they are well organized and solid, the team does not just collapse when a difficult crisis comes. I'm training with a little more focus on the details.

-It's my first time as a director, and I wonder if my experience as a commentator helps.

▶I am well aware of the story of the team or the individual characteristics of the players, and I think that will be a certain advantage for me to explain. Also, it seems important to incorporate what I know in my mother or in the field.

-Jangwi and Jabic have strengths in height.

▶I also talked about the basics, but since volleyball has the strength of its height, I think we need to draw out the advantages of the situation where Jangwi and Zavic are heightened.

-Other teams are picking Pepper Savings Bank as a checker.

▶We prepared a lot of our performance during the offseason because our performance should come out regardless of what other teams think. I hope the things I prepared come out well in real life.

-What did you prepare for the offseason.

▶We have prepared details such as details, connection, attack cover, etc., and now we come here and check the team to some extent, and when the game is over, the feedback we need is right away. I think that's very important, and I think it's important how much the feedback is given when the game is over and how much the completion is improved through training.

-If you have any goals for this year.

▶I am asked this a lot, but I will work hard with responsibility rather than pressure. Since there are quite a few people who support Pepper Savings Bank, we will do our best and do our best.
