KT Won Sang-hyun was selected in the pitching category and Samsung Kim Jae-hyuk in the batter category as the winner of the Medi Hill Futures Rookie Award in July of the 2024 KBO Futures League.

The monthly Mediheal Futures Rookie Award is an award that selects the best pitcher and batter based on the monthly WAR (contribution to victory over replacement players) for players who have completed the regular innings and regular at-bats in the Futures League among players in their first to third years of joining. In July, KT Won Sang-hyun recorded a WAR of 0.50 and Samsung Kim Jae-hyuk a WAR of 0.73.

Won Sang-hyun, who was selected in the pitching category, is a rookie this year who graduated from Busan High School and joined KT as the seventh-ranked player in the first round in the last draft. Meanwhile, Samsung's Kim Jae-hyuk, who was selected in the batter category, graduated from Dong-A University after graduating from Jego and joined Samsung in the 13th place in the second round of 2022. After joining Sangmu in his first year and completing his military service, he has returned to Samsung to play in the game since this season.

In July, KT Won Sang-hyun took the mound as a relief pitcher in one of four Futures League games, secured one win, and added two wins as a starting pitcher in the remaining three games, recording a total of three wins (third place in the South). During July, Won Sang-hyun pitched 15 innings (3rd in the south) with a 3.60 ERA and 21 strikeouts (first in the south) and pitched well using his main weapon, a big curve.

Upon hearing the news of the award, Won Won Won-hyun said, "I'm really grateful to the coach and coach for receiving such a big award, and I've been greatly disappointed during the difficult times, but I think it's because they helped me to get it right and grow again"I will not be proud and always try to be a player who plays harder and does his best in a humble position than anyone else in the future," he said in his acceptance speech.

Samsung's Kim Jae-hyuk played 10 games in the Futures League in July, recording 12 hits (south 4th), including three home runs (south 2nd), and 15 RBIs (south 1st) with a better batting sense, especially in scoring situations. Kim Jae-hyuk, who won the Futures Rookie Award for the first time, thanked his teammates for supporting him when his hitting was bad in the beginning, the coach, and the coach for guiding him passionately. I will try to become a better player without injury for the rest of the season" expressed his feelings.
