The Korea Fencing Association will hold the 64th presidential national men's and women's fencing championships and national competition at the Yeonggwang Sportium National Sports Center in Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do from the 17th to the 23rd.
The presidential competition, which began in 1961, marks the 64th edition of the nation's most prestigious fencing competition, and a total of 2,000 athletes from 15 cities and provinces across the country will participate in the competition. In particular, this competition is one of four competitions (presidential cup, Kim Chang-hwan cup, sports open, and national team player selection) that will be applied to the selection of the national fencing team in the 2024-2025 season, and it is an important competition to determine the position of the national team that will lead Korean fencing ahead of the 2028 LA Olympics.
As the first competition immediately after the 2024 Paris Olympics, Oh Sang-wook, who won the men's sabre individual title for the first time, and Oh Sang-wook, who won the Grand Slam, and Koo Bon-gil, Park Sang-won and Do Kyung-dong, who won three consecutive Olympics, will all participate. Team silver medalists at the Paris Olympics, Yoon Ji-soo, Jeon Ha-young, Choi Se-bin, and Jeon Eun-hye, will all participate to entertain fencing fans.
The Korea Fencing Association will continue the 2024 National Fencing Competition for Sports for All (Club, Dongho-in) from the 24th to the 25th immediately after the presidential competition. Thanks to the popularity of 'The Avengers', 'Beau'Hang' fencing is 'Hang' fencing, reflecting the explosive increase in the number of hobbyists and clubs, the men's and women's elementary, middle, and high school, and general club competitions are held at the same place immediately after the elite competition is over to lead the fencing boom.
