LA Dodgers Shohei Ohtani, who has been hitting jagged recently, virtually collapsed his batting average in the 300s.

Ohtani was silent in a home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Dodger Stadium on the 11th (Korea time) with no hits in three at-bats and one go and four pitches. But the Dodgers won 4-1.

Ohtani, who hit his 35th home run against Pittsburgh the previous day and added a hit in three games, had no hit on the day and his batting average fell to 0.300. The exact batting average is 0.2998, which is rounded up to the official record of 300, but it should be considered that it has actually fallen below 300.

It was the fifth hitless game in nine games in August alone. Ohtani, who has 35 home runs, 83 RBIs, 87 points and 32 steals, is on the verge of collapsing with an OPS of 1.005.

The starting pitcher for Pittsburgh on the day was rookie fastball pitcher Paul Skins. Ohtani pulled Skins' 94,1-mile sinker in the bottom of the first inning and was grounded out to first base. In the third inning, he struck out a foul tip while swinging the bat on a 93.5 mile sinker that went far outside the sixth pitch of the Skins with a ball count of 2B2S.

In the fifth inning, he was tricked by a curve that fell into the middle of 83.5 miles after one loss and turned his bat around.

With this, Ohtani recorded 2 hits and 3 strikeouts in 6 at-bats against the Skins, who made his major league debut in May. Earlier, in the first showdown at PNC Park on June 6, he showed strength by taking away two hits, including a two-run homer in the third inning. In the bottom of the seventh inning with a 4-0 lead, Ohtani walked to the fourth pitch with no outs and runners on the second and third bases.

However, the Dodgers' batters took the lead in the game by effectively targeting Skins and taking away the early lead.

When Teoscar Hernandez hit a ground rule double to the right line after one out in the bottom of the first inning, Gavin Lux hit a 98.6-mile fastball in the middle of Skins to hit a clean left-center double to score the first run.

Lux's timely hit also occurred in the third inning. With a two-out, 2.3 base chance made by first-runner Nick Ahmed's right-handed hit, Teoscar's infield hit after one out, and Freddie Freeman's jin-base hit, Lux pulled on Skins' 93.4-mile body sinker and hit a line drive hit that fell in front of right field, bringing them all home with two runners.

In the fifth inning, Teosca hit a 93.4-mile sinker of Skins after two outs and connected it with a solo shot that easily crossed the right-center fence, widening the score gap to 4-0. He hit his 26th home run of the season with a shooting angle of 28 degrees, a batting speed of 108.8 miles and a flying distance of 427 feet.

The Dodgers failed to score an additional point in the bottom of the seventh inning because Teoscar, Freeman and Lux were all struck out, but bullpen pitchers defended the victory in the eighth and ninth innings.

Dodgers starter River Ryan was not able to meet the requirements for the starting win as he was replaced by complaining of right arm pain while facing Michael A Taylor after blocking well with two outs in the fifth inning. He had to settle for lowering his ERA to 1.33 with four hits and four strikeouts in four ⅔ innings.

Pittsburgh starter Skins struggled with six hits, one walk, eight strikeouts, and four runs in six innings, losing the game. The Skins, who have failed to add to their last four consecutive wins, have 6-2 with a 2.25 ERA and 115 strikeouts for the season.
