Hanwha Eagles beat the leading KIA Tigers to win their second consecutive game.

Hanwha beat KIA 5-4 after 10 extra innings at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 4th. Hanwha, which allowed a tie after two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, took the victory by scoring the winning run in the top of the 10th inning, even though starting pitcher Ryan Weiss had three hits (one home run) and no four outs in seven ⅔ innings. Hanwha, which caught the Doosan Bears at home a day ago, won for the second consecutive day and continued its bid for the fifth round. The season record was 59 wins, 2 draws and 63 losses. KIA led the game to extra time thanks to Na Sung-bum's timely hit and Kim Sun-bin's tie-breaking two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth inning when the team was trailing 1-4, but eventually bowed its head. Kia, which ended its three-game winning streak, had 76 wins, two draws and 50 losses in the season.

Hanwha got the first run. After two outs in the top of the first inning, Chae Eun-sung, Jang Jin-hyuk, and Kim Tae-yeon scored three runs with three consecutive hits in the top of the first inning with Ahn Chi-hong's left-handed hit and Noh Si-hwan's four pitches.

KIA's batting lineup was tied up by Weiss until the fifth inning. After two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, Kim Sun-bin succeeded in getting on base due to Noh Si-hwan's throwing error, breaking the perfect flow. However, Lee Woo-sung failed to make his first hit by hitting a fly ball to shortstop.

Hanwha got closer to winning by scoring an additional point in the top of the sixth inning. Moon Hyun-bin made an infield hit to Kim Dae-yu, who took the mound in relief, with Kim Tae-yeon's heavy hit, Lee Do-yoon's pitch and Choi Jae-hoon's walk after two outs against KIA Kim Ki-hoon, and in the meantime, the third baseman homered to make it 4-0.

KIA broke Weiss' no-hitter streak in the bottom of the eighth inning. Leading hitter Na Sung-beom kicked a 132km slider that came into the middle of the 2B1S match and connected it to a solo shot to the middle wall. KIA succeeded in pulling down Weiss with consecutive hits by Han Jun-su and Park Jung-woo, but failed to get an additional point as Park Chan-ho stepped down with a ground ball to the third base on Park Sang-won, who took the mound in relief.

The match, which seemed to end with Hanwha's victory, was tied after two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

KIA chased one more point against Park Sang-won in the bottom of the ninth inning when Na Sung-bum made a double to the left-center with two outs and a first base. Hanwha put in the finishing main phenomenon instead of Park Sang-won, but the game went back to square one as Kim Sun-bin hit a two-run shot to left.

Hanwha succeeded in picking an additional point in the top of the 10th inning. Jang Jin-hyuk, who hit a double to right field after one out against KIA Jang Hyun-sik and got on base, advanced to third base taking advantage of the wild pitch. Hanwha took a 5-4 lead again as Jang Jin-hyuk, who was far away from the third base with a strikeout, boldly scored with a tag-up and sliding when catcher Han Seung-taek threw. Joo Hyun-sang, who took the mound again in the bottom of the 10th inning, succeeded in keeping the lead this time, and Hanwha ended the game with a one-run victory.
