Players who participated in the 'Golf Zone City Golf China Open' as recommended players by the Asian Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF) performed well.

Hong Jin-ju, who participated in the competition on AGLF's recommendation, ranked second in the three-day competition held at the Meigang Convention Center in Tianjin, China, from the 13th. Four Thai AGLF-recommended players, Parkin Kawun Pakorn, Khan Bunnavodi, Onkanok Soysuwan and Panarai Mysomus, also made it to the top 10.

The competition was held in a 72-hole stroke play method in the fourth round, in which tee shots and approach shots are played on screens, and short games and putts are played in real bunkers and greens.

Hong Jin-ju "Unfortunately missed the championship but had a new experience. It's not just screen golf, but I've played short games and putts on artificial grass for the first time. It was an interesting experience. It was a different game than golf on natural turf, and it was a game with fair rules."

Golf Zone China, which joined AGLF last year as the second overseas member after Jakarta's Pondogindaga GC, is in the process of carrying out more than 300 screen golf course projects in China. In addition to the Golf Zone China Open, various competitions are being held, including the Maotai Buluge Open.

AGLF Secretary-General Park Paul "It was a stage to prove the good cooperative relationship between AGLF and Golf Zone China. We were able to confirm the capacity of Golf Zone China to create a new golf culture that combines screen and field golf. "This tournament seems to have served as a friendly bridge for Asian players. It was also a good opportunity for Korean Champions Tour players who have few chances to participate."

Park Sung-bong, CEO of Golf Zone China, said "In line with China's smart sports promotion policy, we plan to expand the city golf course to major cities in China so that more people can use city golf in the future."

AGLF decided to continue discussions with Golf Zone China on expanding the participation of Asian Pacific players and selection criteria.
