The Samsung Lions encountered unexpected bad news.
Conor Seabold (28, Samsung Lions) started the away game against the Hanwha Eagles at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 11th and recorded three four strikeouts and four strikeouts in three ⅓ innings.
He was pitching perfectly by mixing a fastball with a maximum speed of 152 km/h, as well as cutters (17), sliders (8), and changeups (4).
After two outs in the bottom of the first inning, he allowed his first on-base hit by Jang Jin-hyuk, but ended the inning by catching Noh Si-hwan with a ground ball to shortstop. At the bottom of the second inning, he had a clean three-out strikeout with two strikeouts.
He faced a crisis in the bottom of the third inning. After turning the leadoff hitter Lee Do-yoon on a fly ball, Choi Jae-hoon and Moon Hyun-bin were sent out with walks and hit balls, respectively. He had good concentration against the follow-up hitter. Kim In-hwan got a ground ball to the first base and caught the first baseman at second base, and Jang Jin-hyuk was caught with a catcher foul fly to end the inning without losing a point.
In the fourth inning, he struck out leadoff hitter Noh Si-hwan at 2B, continuing his no-hitter streak. However, he was replaced by right-hander Lee Seung-hyun with Kwon Kwang-min coming out of Chae Eun-sung's at-bat.
A Samsung official said, `The pain in the right shoulder of the pitch was replaced to protect the player.' `We will check the player's physical condition first and then decide on hospital treatment.'
Lee Seung-hyun finished the inning by striking out An Chi-hong after catching Kwon Kwang-min with a fly ball to the third baseman. Corner was also able to finish the game without losing a point.
