DRX Academy signs MOU with Osan University to train e-sports talent

The global e-sports-gaming group DRX announced on the 9th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Osan University to foster e-sports talent.

DRX and Osan University agreed on the development of e-sports talents, joint research, and human exchanges through mutual exchanges at the DRX headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the 6th. Professor Han Sang-yong of Osan University's e-sports department, DRX Namgung Ilnam Business Division Head and DRX Academy Vice President Lee Si-woo participated in the signing ceremony.

Through this agreement, DRX and Osan University have come up with ways to provide practical help to students from both institutions, including on-the-job training and practice, and conducting practice games between academy and university teams.

Namgoong Il-nam, director of the headquarters, said "We are happy to benefit the students of the DRX Academy. I hope it will be helpful to students preparing for the Osan University entrance exam. We will continue to do our best to provide various benefits to academy students," he said, expressing his feelings about signing the MOU.

DRX Academy is a professional gamer training institution directly operated by DRX, and the best e-sports experts and instructors in Korea are participating in the training. The DRX Academy plans to establish a beginner's class to expand the base of 'Valorant', which has recently emerged as a popular e-sports event.

In the meantime, DRX operates a total of six events, including the 'League of Legends' team that won the '2022 League of Legends World Championship', the strongest team in Asia 'Valorant', the strongest team in Korea 'Battleground Mobile', the 2022 EVO winner Tekken Legend 'Knees'Street Fighter', and the 'Warcraft' team.

Through this, it has signed sponsorships with global companies such as Shinhan Bank, Porsche, Red Bull, Nishin, LG Display, and RAZER, and is developing businesses in various fields such as content and merchandising. In addition, DRX has its own data analysis system and is actively discovering and hiring outstanding talents through the academy system.
