The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) finalized and announced its fall baseball schedule on the 25th. KBO originally planned to start the wild card game from the 30th after completing the additional schedule in September on the 28th, but the schedule for the opening of the postseason was naturally delayed as games canceled due to the recent fall rain were scheduled later.
The first round of the wild card match between the fourth and fifth places will be held on the 2nd. The wild-card game will be played up to two games. The fourth-place team in the regular season will advance to the semi-playoffs if they win or draw one of the two games, and the fifth-place team will have to win two games to reach the semi-playoffs. All wild-card matches will be held at the home of the fourth-place team
The semi-playoffs and playoffs will be held in the best-of-five series, and the Korean Series will be held in the best-of-seven series, and at least one day between each series will be organized as a moving day. In this case, the first round of the semi-playoff will be held on October 5, the first round of the playoffs will be held on October 13, and the first round of the Korean Series will be held on October 21. The venue for the first game has all been decided. The first round of the semi-playoff will be held at Jamsil Stadium, the home ground of the LG Twins, the third-place team, the first round of the playoffs will be held at Daegu Samsung Lions Park of the second-place Samsung Lions, and the first round of the Korean Series will be held at Gwangju Kia Champions Field of the regular season winner KIA Tigers.
If the postseason game is not held due to rain, it will be postponed to the next day, and if the game is delayed but does not affect the set game schedule, it will proceed as scheduled.
The extra time will be played up to 15 times. Even after the end of the 15th inning, if you can't decide whether to win or lose, it will be a draw.
If the match ends in a draw, the match will be played in a series without moving days at the stadium where the draw took place after the final match of each series. If more than two games are drawn in a series, it will be held in a series for a day of movement.
If a suspended match is established, if the next day is the same match, it will be played before that day. If the next day is a moving day, the game will be played on the moving day and the entire schedule will be postponed for one day each. If the next day is the final match of the series, the game will be played on the next day or on the moving day and the entire schedule will be postponed for one day each.
Video reading can be applied up to two times per team based on regular innings. If both are overturned in the regular innings, the club will be given one additional opportunity, and if they go into extra time, one more opportunity will be given per club.
On the other hand, if the regular season rain postponement game is between teams that are not related to the postseason or the series, it can be played during the postseason, and games between teams that are not related to the wild-card game can be held on the final day of the regular season and the first game of the wild-card game.
