Park Geun-woo (25th, Team MK), the left-handed trend of Korean Professional Bowling (KPBA), has succeeded in winning five games.

Park Geun-woo defeated Lim Dong-sung (29, Team Evonite) 238 to 227 in the final of the '2024 Voltopia Open Memorial International Bowling Championship' held in Voltopia, Yongin on the 8th.

Park Geun-woo took the lead with two or three frame doubles at the beginning of the final, but later allowed a tie as he failed to produce consecutive strikes in the changed lane. However, he finished the game with five consecutive strikes from the eighth frame, winning by 11 pins. With this, Park Geun-woo has won five titles for four consecutive years since 2021.

Park Geun-woo said, "There was a left-right deviation of the final lane, and it was difficult because the game changed as it continued. However, thanks to my experience, I was able to cope well without panicking. It's been 10 weeks since my child was born, and I think this victory would have been a good gift for my child and family. My goal is to win at least one title every year, and I'm happy to continue my record this year and I'll do my best" expressed his feelings.

As a result, Park Geun-woo won his fifth career victory after winning the Sangju Dried Persimmon Cup in 2021, followed by the Yeongwol Cup in 2022, Yangsan Cup, and 2023 DSD Samho Cup.

On the other hand, Lim Dong-sung gave up the early lead by committing a big split in the first frame, but he put the game back to square one with Turkey in the fourth and sixth frames. However, after giving up the lead again with two consecutive covers in the seventh and eighth frames, he failed to turn around again and unfortunately had to be satisfied with the runner-up.

In the previous third place match, three left-handed bowlers faced off, which was rare. As a result, Lim Dong-sung and Park Geun-woo scored 238 points and 232 points, respectively, to advance to the final. On the other hand, Kim Young-min (28, Team Samho Tech Co., Ltd.) pitched well, but only scored 225 points as he was hampered by a seven-frame easy single pin (No. 7) cover miss, ranking third in the final.

In addition, in the fourth-place match, where four TV finalists compete at the same time and one person is eliminated, three left-handed players, Lim Dong-sung, Kim Young-min and Park Geun-woo, showed strike shows side by side, scoring 254, 241 and 256 points, respectively, to advance to the next round. On the other hand, Hong Il-jeom (Amateur) was the only right-handed bowler in the final, but he failed to take advantage and struggled in the lane before finishing fourth with 190 points.
