Sol Bamba, a former Ivory Coast defender from the English Premier League, has passed away at the age of 39.

On the 1st (Korea time), the Turkish club Adanaspor announced the death of technical director Sol Bamba through an official social network service (SNS) statement. Before yesterday's away match against ManasaFK, our technology director, Souleimadene Bamba, was taken to Celal Bayar University Hospital, but sadly lost his life there, he said, expressing his deepest condolences to his family and officials.

Sol Bamba was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a rare type of cancer, on Christmas Eve 2020, but was cured. However, Turkish media Furyet broke the news that `Sol Bambaisa collapsed before the Manasa match due to a recurrence of lymphoma.'

French-born Ivory Coast center back Sol Bamba, who was born in 1985, played for Leicester City, Leeds, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough in England, was a soccer star who played in South Africa in 2010 and Germany in 2014 and worked as a coach for his former team Cardiff after retiring in 2022, then worked as a manager for Adanaspor in Turkey's second division and as a technical director for the club until he collapsed from illness on the day.

In May 2021, he was completely cured after chemotherapy about five months after being diagnosed with cancer, and his contract with Cardiff City was terminated, but his teacher Neil Warnock took the helm of Middlesbrough and hired Bamba on a one-year contract, and he was loved by fans as an icon of human victory again.

He was a hero to all of us, a leader of all the locker rooms, and a true gentleman,' he mourned. 'We extend our deepest condolences with his friends and family, and all who were lucky enough to know and love Sol,' he added.
